A hobby

In your life, you probably will have a lot of hobbies, so it's nearly impossible that two or more people don't share hobbies. That is one of the graces of the hobbies, there is always someone that have the same hobby.

One of my favorites hobbies is collect cards of the game "Mitos y leyendas". In my times of school, with my friends we played at this card game almost all the times, occasionally we were remaining in the school at high hours of the night, playing cards. those were good times.

In those times, i had a dragon deck that a friend of my big brother helped me to build. The deck was very cheap to build, so when i played against very expensive decks and i won, i felt very good. With the pass of the time, the necessity to get better cards was present, and then my friends show me a shop where they sold cards, and a lot of "Miteros" came to play, buy and sell.

i guess that it was the start of all. I used to love the dragon cards and the warriors, so i build my most advanced decks with those races. I participate in some tournament, were i used to be in the top 3.

But all had a final, and this is not an exception. When i was in my penultimate year of school, the card game was almost dead. From one moment to other, no one was playing "mitos" again. That was a very strong hit directly to my heart. The game that i loved was dead. as consequence, i sold my deck and the remain cards were put in a box, hidden in my room.

But when something died, it usually reborn. Recently ( 6 month), one of my friends of the school contacted me. He told me that he was playing again "mitos" and that he found other place where the "miteros" were meeting. I was so happy to hear that, and i took my box with the remains cards and i built a new deck.

The dragons are still my favorites, but that races becomes one of the most strongest in me meta game, and his price rise a lot, so i cannot afford again a dragon deck. So, meanwhile i am trying to get dragons, i started a new Tenebris deck.

I like this hobby a lot, because allow me to remember the glorious days of the school, when i played mitos all the day. Also. the majority of the cards lowered his price, so is much easier collect the cards if you want. I am actually collecting the edition "Origenes", and when i finally my perfect dragon deck, i think that i will retire again, only this time with the cards instead of selling them :D

My future

After five months writing on my blog, i think that is the hour to talk about what i think i will be in my future.

i think that in the future, i will be still living in Santiago. i dont hate traveling, but sure that is dificult even think live in other region, city or country, but i dont discard that in an future future (lol) i would live in other city, like tokyo or new york. In the future, probably i wont be architect, i think that languaje teacher or writer is more suited for me (But first i should finish my Role Playing Book that is hidden in the forums).

Probably i wont have a wife to share my future, so i think that i will have great partners. My family will live their lifes for separate, meeting occasionally.

Things that i will archieve? uhmmm... i dont think that i will archieve very much thinks, but sure i will finish my RPB and i will write a fantasy book (Have a stable job is an archievement?).

The earth... i dont know how much will change our planet, but surely we will have either, good and bad things, like robots, super humans, medium scale wars, better technologies, better videogames, better music, globalization V2, more mangas and animes, and a lot of more things. (No flying cars, however)

The future, you will never know if it is bright or dark, so is better calm down and wait for it, from the present...

The blog of my classmate

Today i will write about the blog of one of my classmates. The lucky one of this day is... Catalina! (Blog: http://cataurquiza.blogspot.cl/). She has wrote (until the date) 6 entrys on her blog (and counting). The style of her blog is dark and serene, combining calm with mistery. The palette is beetween black and blue and the white as extra color.

In the blog, there are 10 images, and only one video, so, practically are 1,66 images per entry, and 0,16 videos per entry; i can say that this little blog is fully of images, so isn't hard to read or boring.

Now, for my next trick (jk), i will select an entry of catalina's blog and review it... - The roulette stops in: A country i would like to visit.-. Well, how the tittle says, the post is about a country that catalina would like to visit, most specifically Greece. The post have 230 words and have a variety of pictures (4) to lighten the text. I choose this entry mostly because the desire of travel, i think, cannot lie and is respectable, also is hard to speak about a place that you dont know.

Hi Fau Bloggers! 

Today I will talk about a beautiful country I would like to visit, Greece.

Greece is a very good place to travel because get together history, beautiful landscapes, architecture, art and entertainment in one place.

This is a mediterranean country in Europe, has a long coastline because it made up of seven archipelagos with 1400 islands. Her geography is mountainous and with a variety of nature.

Greece is the birthplace of western culture because was a big and developed civilization. Here was born many schools of sciences, phylosophy and art very important to history world and nowadays.

Greece offer a variety types of trips. If you want to do a history and architecture trip, you can go to Athens, the culture centre of Greece. In this city you can visit the Parthenon, Theatre of Herodes, Acropolis,  Temple of Hephaestus, Temple of Olympian Zeus, Ancient Agora of Atehns and others archaeological museums. 

Also, you can do a nature tours around the Greek Islands. In the islands there are many amazing beaches! Some are very quite and others are more popular and luxury but all have really beautiful colors of sand and crystalline or deep blue waters. 

In conclusion, Greece is an incredible country, full of important place to human history but also is a good place to relax and enjoy of the sea, architecture, nature and her colours.

The great travel for all the countries, first edition: France

When one asked himself about a country that one would like to visit, some people have a clear answer, and other like me are indecisive, because the great amount of interesting countries that one can visit, or the others forgotten in the past. I think that i would like visit France for both his past and his present.

France is very interesting, i already said that, his past marked for the revolution and the empire can charm anyone, but his present, or the edifications that at the day persist aren't stay behind.

Builds like the Cathedral of Notre dame, or the louvre museum, or the Basilica of Notre Dame de la garde. In France are a lot of cathedrals and churches (i am not religious, but i think that places like these have some unknow powers), also some goods tematic parks like the asterix park or the "futuroscope".

i would like go to France with two friend of my ex school. for our lucky, we still together in the FAU, because one enter to architecture (On other section :( ) and the other enter to Design. we, the three on our old school were in the French elective, so i know some French (is my third idiom, but i have not master it yet), my friend that entered to architecture speak it almost perfectly so if i would go to france he will be my translator and the one that speak with the people.

if i manage to go to France, i would like to visit the before mentioned Futuroscope, that is a futurist tamatic park, or also visit the churches, parks, the coasts and rivers. and why not, try to climb up the Mont Blanc. The places with more nature in france are beautiful.

Summer would be a good station to go, or winter. With the change of station, in summer (Winter in france) the cold and the snowwould be  agreat addition for the ambientation, and in Winter (Summer in France) the brilliant Sun and his heat able me to enjoy the coast and the parks.

At least, after all this text of dreams, i hope that one day i really can go to France :)

A build that i like

Today i will talk about a build that i like. i like it because is a build that i know since i born practically, and the build in itself is an icon of my commune. This build was made with the purpose to be the "Hospital Ochagavia", but with the militar strike of 1973, the build was discontinued and abandoned. The years passed and the "Hospital Ochagavia" was still abandoned, so the people of the commune decided to baptize the build as "El Elefante Blanco" (Or white elephant), because of the impact of the great build in the zone.

The first time that i saw it (Or at least the first time that i remember) was when i had five years and i was walking in my passage with my big brother. The Elefante Blanco is visible in almost all the commune because his height, so in my child eyes the build was like a castle. His form is a fusion of squares and rectangles, so is pretty basic, but not for that less impressive. 

2 years ago, i had the possibility to enter to the failed hospital. The Elefante Blanco is very big and wide, contrasting with everything in the commune, so it is like be in another place. Inside it is dark and his rooms and spaces give the feeling of be in a videogame; It was a great experience. The bad part is that experience is so near and so far at the same time, because is hard to enter again to the build since a construction company started to rebuilt the place.

The people in the commune first they hated the build, but with the time, the Elefante Blanco won a place in the history and culture of the commune. it is frecuently used to orientation inside the comunne, and the empty land in the side of the build is used for events, in mostly circus.

Now, the elefante blanco is being rebuilt, but the people of the commune asked to the architects of the construction company keep the form of the build, showing the appreciation that the people have to the build. The forgotten Hospital Ochagavia will be never an hospital or an abandonned place again, instead, it will be oficces with a mix of public places inside, so the people could identify more with the place, despite the fact that the build dont have the weight or the width to bend with the commune.

Da Song

When i was more young, i always tell my friends that i dont like any song (or styles of music). that was a lie to scape of the conversation. When i grow up, i get more confident and started to tell my friends my likes.

In the world of the music, i like the rock, the classic music and the videogame music, but one day i heard a song that inspire in me a feeling i never felt: That song is called "Everything went numb" of Streetlight Manifesto. This song is one of his first song, and i felt that is one of the better.

I heard it not long time ago (1 month and a half). I was in Osu, an plataform to play with the songs. I see this song and play it. A wind went round my back, the singer speaks very fast and his ritm and the instruments used are something that i never have listened. for a while i thought that it was jazz, but no, jazz is more slow; That was SKA, an genre that born from jazz and afroamerican music. The song tell the history of a bank robber that steal for surviving.

I like it because when i heard the song was something new to me. The mix of the jazz and afroamerican inspire in me the feeling that i live the storie that is telling me the singer. it was a very deep feeling. i am sure that it is a feeling that will be difficult to experiment again, so i am very grateful with the destiny for able me to found this song in that mountain of songs...

From that day, i continue listening SKA, but the feeling that i felt with "Everything Went numb" never has been repeated.

The Photograph

This day i want to talk about an photography that i found meanwhile i was cleaning up the memory card of my cell phone: 

I really like this photography. It is a remember of my vacations to Antofagasta. This photography was taken about 3 months ago, and the place in it is the Salar de Atacama.

The Salar de Atacama was a splendid place that i visited. It is about 2km above the level of the ocean and there are winds that easily can make you go back. In the Salar, sometimes there flamingos that fly near of the lake of salt (In Atacama are many reserves of them).

Its a very hard place to stay, because the strong winds, the cold of the salt lake and the height that can make you feel very dizzy, but is a good place to visit and remember.

I like the photo because it make me remember the effort that i did to stay okay, the cold of the water and the race that i did with my big brother in the side of the lake. i remember clearly the race, because the wind didnt let us run fast... (We run 10 meters in about 18 seconds)

I am not a big fan of these types of places, but it was a good experience with my family, and also it was only one of the stops of the travel that we were doing, so, if it was the first experience, can you imagine the next, and the next? in that time, i didnt... It was a very nice trip :D

My special place in Santiago

There are not many places that i go frequently, but are one that i like very much, and that is the "Cerro Santa lucia"

The Santa lucia is located practically in the center of Santiago, there are a Metro with the same name, so is conectated with the city.

i dont go frequently (as i said before), but i think i go one time for month. That is ironic, because the Santa Lucia is like the backyard of the FAU, but the time is not infinite, isnt it? (Get away Einstein)

When i go o the Santa lucia, i always go alone. Santa Lucia is like a site where i think about myself or where i relax, so go with other people is pointless. when i am there, is like that a mistyc calm embrace me, and invite me to rest in the grass. It's a very good experience that help me to overcome the problems, or when i am lack of ideas for my essays and stories. Normally i only do this, rest, but other times, when i am full of energies, i climb to the top and  i see the city.

The last time that i went was 1 month ago. Now i have to free an hour to go in the next days. Studying architecture is stressful, but if can go to the Santa Lucia, i am sure that i can overcome this challenge :)

The subject that i enjoy studying

Can be rare, for an studiant of architecture, the favorite subject would be Workshop or maths, but for me is languaje.

Languaje is a very extensive subject that covert the understanding of the base idiom and texts, also the writing and reading of them and the applications of the words and how them can affect the way that we communicate.

I enjoy studying it because i (despite the fact that i am studying architecture) love how the communication with others either oral or written, can affect the reacction of the people and his thoughts.

The studying of Languaje help me to influence the people around me in many periods of my life, for good or for bad. The understanding of the techniques in the conversation help me to socialize with many variery of people, normally more older than me. Also, Languaje show me the world of the writing (books and essay are the texts that i handle better), and that is one of my most valued treasure.

Languaje is very far one of the subjects that able the student get on good in the public life. It help you to communicate with other people in the best way, or defend your own ideas and thoughts. i dont change the knowledge that languaje give me for nothing, because is for it that i am writting this probably, and also is the reason why i was a forum guy, and write stories in the forums...

The architect that i admire

Time ago, when i was an fervent forum guy (and when i played videogames with european players) an friend of catalunya say me that how were my city. I reponse him with the description of santiago, his good thing, and his bad thing. He told me that his city was amazing, and he told me a name: Antoni Gaudi. I asked him about his works and proyects, but he refused. at the end, he say me that i must search about his works to understand him.

With very few information, i went to google and started to search information about Gaudi. He was an unique architect, that make a lot of proyects in spain, most specifically in barcelona. Searching a bit more, i saw that he designed the Basilica of the sacred family, that was his great and most important work but not the unique: he also did the güell park, the cript of the güell colony, the house mila and very others more.

i was impacted with the Gaudi works,he had a very unique style with the use of concavity and colors. His works are very flashy, nobody that go to barcelona or catalunya can ever miss the gaudi's work.

from that moment, i like the Gaudi's proyects, for his great creativity and innovation, the use of the colors, the curved and semi-curved architecture that he managed. i am sure that in his time, he was a great person.

Finally, i thanks my friend for talking me about gaudi, despite that he only told me his name, thanks to him i found a magnificent architect :) .

Hello People

Hi!

My name is Angel, i have 18 years and actually i'm studying  architecture in the university of chile. I live in Santiago, in the commune of Pedro Aguirre Cerda. I am glad to write thing like these, because before i was a forum guy, so i like the discussions and express my opinions. I also like play flute, and drawing despite the fact that i draw bad, is relaxing create thing that in some moment you will be proud of.

In my free time i try to do a lot of exercise or play football, and, why not, sometimes play computers games or chat with my olds friends. Whenever i am bored, i like to play with my cats or fight in a friendly tone with them.

In any case, all my hobbies are for one reason, and that is someday create an Interactive book, with great pictures, music and history; Is like my dream i guess.
